With our first distillery unit set up in 1940s, we are one of the India’s oldest and largest producers of ethanol with three large distillery units. Ethanol is produced from molasses, a natural by-product in our Manufacturing Units, and serves as the principle ingredient in alcoholic beverages as well as a range of FMCG products ranging from personal care and beauty products in addition to commercial products such as paints and varnishes. It is used in the preparation of essences and flavorings; in many medicines and drugs; as a disinfectant and in tinctures (e.g., tincture of iodine). In addition, ethanol finds its major use in blending with gasoline/ petrol to create cleaner fuel for all transport vehicles.We are one of the largest ethanol players in the country.
Ethanol as a fuel is used to oxygenate the fuel (gasoline, petrol, etc.) and thus reduce the resultant air pollution. Our ethanol plants are based on molecular sieve dehydration technology which are least energy consuming, automated and integrated with the distillation plant.
