Celebrate the Colours of Pride Month!

You must have often seen celebrations with a VIBGYOR flag in the month of June. If you wonder why, then we have the answer for you! The colours on the rainbow flag reflects the diversity of the LGBTQ community. Pride Month is celebrated each year in June, a month full of joy and festiveness!

If you are feeling left out in the celebrations, then this article is just for you. In the spirit of Pride, let's celebrate the month in our own colourful way! The six layers of a rainbow cake makes it perfect for the occasion and looks so aesthetically pleasing.

Let's note the ingredients at once.

  • For cake sponges:

-VIBGYOR gel food colors

-540g (4.5 cups) all-purpose flour

-855g (3 cups) yogurt

-12g (3 tsp) baking powder

-9g (1.5 tsp) baking soda

-15ml (3 tsp) vanilla essence

-450g (2.25 cups) Superfine Sugar by Trust

-360ml (1.5 cup) vegetable oil

  • For buttercream frosting:

-390g (3 cups) Icing Sugar by Trust

-300g (1.5 cup) softened butter

-15ml (3 tsp) vanilla essence

The process of baking a rainbow cake seems all tiring but in reality, it's fairly simple!

Excited? Let's start!

  • Mix all your dry ingredients in a bowl and keep that aside. Then take another bowl and whisk oil and sugar in it, followed by adding all the other ingredients to make a homogeneous mixture.

  • Divide the vanilla base batter in 6 equal portions. Add 1-2 drops of each gel colour in each potion and mix well. Add more drops if you want to make it a bit darker but make sure that you do not add too much as gel colours do not fade out on baking.

  • Once done, pour different batters in 6 different pans of equal size. If you do not have so many pans, you can reuse the same pan after each bake. Preheat the oven at 180°C and then bake each layer for 20-25 minutes or until fully baked.

  • Meanwhile you can prepare your buttercream frosting. Take soft butter and whip it with icing sugar till the mixture becomes pale. The finely powdered granules of Icing Sugar by Trust blends like magic with your flavors and enhances your cream by giving it an enriched taste. Add vanilla essence for all the lovely flavor that you want.

  • We are almost done! Assembling all the layers is the last step remaining. Stack each layer of base one on top of the other by applying scoopfuls of frosting between them.

  • Garnish the cake with the frost itself or dust it with Icing Sugar by Trust to give it the aesthetic colourful look. You can also add some rainbow sprinkles on the top.

The process seems long but at the end all the layers look so pretty together that it is worth all your efforts. The perfect amount of sweetness by Superfine Sugar by Trust is surely going to be the best treat for your Pride Month celebrations.
